CAMIGLIANO

A place where history meets passion, in a land that speaks of centuries of life, from Etruscan times to the Middle Ages. The cellar, located in the ancient village and completely underground, preserves an authentic soul, intertwining tradition, innovation, and respect for the land. Built to keep pace with modernity, it has been integrated into the landscape, enhancing the town square and the medieval village, where family members have worked side by side for four generations.

The interior is divided into two levels: the first is equipped with 97-122 hl thermo-controlled stainless steel vats; the second, lower and underground, is equipped with 60 hl French oak barrels and state-of-the-art concrete vats. The remaining space, suitably separated, is used for wine storage and bottling.

Among the hills of Montalcino, organic vineyards and cutting-edge techniques combine to produce wines that capture the essence of the terroir, enhancing its unique aromas and flavors. The new vineyards were planted using clonal selections tested at the University of Pisa. Winemaking techniques are geared towards excellence, with grape selection performed manually both in the vineyard and in the cellar using the most innovative methods (oshillys) to achieve an optimal harvest. Today, the vineyards are all organic and located in the same area, covering approximately 100 hectares. The altitude varies from zone to zone, and the vineyards are all between 250 and 270 meters above sea level. The geological characteristics vary: some soils are sandy-loam, others clayey, and others rich in fossils and marl. Around 300,000 bottles are produced, including Brunello, Rosso di Montalcino, Poderuccio IGT, Gamal Vermentino and Gamal Rosa IGT, organic Terre di Siena DOP olive oil, and Grappa from the Brunello vineyards.

The tasting cellar, with exposed beams and stone walls, is the beating heart of a sensory experience, where every sip of Brunello tells stories of time, dedication, and love for wine.

The winery, purchased in 1957 by the current owner’s father, is managed with family care by Gualtiero, first with his wife Laura and later with his daughters Silvia and Isabella. Camigliano is a symbol of excellence and hospitality. Here, among ancient renovated farmhouses and breathtaking views, every visit becomes a journey between past and future, immersing yourself in the magic of wine and the land.
