Azienda Agricola Purovino is an 11 hectares sustainable farm with a total of 3,5 hectares under vine. The vineyard is nested in Magliano in Toscana, the heart of Maremma, a terroir that donates precious wines.
In this magnificent scenery, not far from the Mediterranean Sea, tradition meets innovation, finding the perfect alchemy. The estate is primarily focused on Vermentino, Sangiovese, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pugnitello and Fiano.
Manual and mechanical weeding to avoid the use of synthetic fertilizers and harmful chemical pesticides, accurate pruning, manual harvesting, careful grape/bunches selection and a meticulous wine production with no added sulphites are the winery main strength and value.
Sustainable agriculture and accurate winery practices conserve water and energy, maintain healthy land and protect air and water quality.
Vineyard Practices and Plant Pest control: vineyards are carefully managed to preserve the good earth that nourishes them. For vines defense we only apply copper sulphate and sulphur together with integrated pest control (pheromons traps).
To avoid the use of synthetic fertilizers and harmful chemical pesticides that can influence the growth of crops and the health of the soil, we apply an integrated weed management with manual and mechanical weeding, natural fertilizers and long-term soil conservation techniques which include green manure (grass mixtures and leguminous).
Winery Practices: we use our patented method Purovino® to produce exceptional long-term wines with no added sulphites of great consumer value.
