Since 1939, when the Gaslini Alberti family bought it, the Badia di Morrona company was conducted with foresight and entrepreneurial skills. The vineyards have been renovated, production techniques have been constantly improved, the cellar and the barrel room for aging in wood have been renovated and extended. Today the company produces wine and oil, offers various facilities for the farm, a restaurant and the use of the Badia dating back to 1089 as a venue for every type of event and ceremony.
One of the greatest business resources is the quality of the vineyards, the result of the new generation of plants, ie those made with clones, plant density and farming systems identified according to the type of land and the wines to be produced. The quality of the grapes produced is always the best that can be obtained based on the seasonal trend and the quantity of vineyards available allows an excellent selection process.
Badia di Morrona is a very important reality for the province of Pisa, both from an economic and a productive point of view. It is a responsibility that the Gaslini Alberti have in mind.
This is why they decided that the company symbol is the family crest.
They are themselves to ensure the consumer on the quality of the product, whether it is oil, wine, hospitality in the cellar or relax in the farms.
Sangiovese is the prince of all Tuscany and therefore also of this portion of the region where the production of wine has been known since the time of the Etruscans. This is why more than half of the 110 hectares of vineyards are planted with this one of the most difficult varieties to grow, but from which some of the most interesting and original wines of the world are obtained. In Tuscany, thanks to the incomparable terroir it enjoys, vines such as Cabernet, Syrah, Merlot find an excellent location giving rise to wines with a great personality. No science-fiction equipment, only what is actually needed, with the aim of making the most out of the terroir that has been able to transmit to the grapes.
