This year MTV Toscana would like to promote the Culture of Wine starting from the art of viticulture and vinification moving on to food wine pairings and the art of drinking well.
On this long journey, wine will be the leitmotif, which will guide us as we discover the production areas and winemaking techniques and open new doors to where art blends in with the food and wine heritage of Tuscany as well as take part in unforgettable experiences in the MTV Toscana member wineries. In addition to the national Movimento Turismo del Vino events such as Cantine Aperte, Calici di Stelle, Cantine Aperte Harvest Edition and Cantine Aperte for Christmas, there will also be cultural charity events.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY FOR MTV TOSCANA MEMBERS
It took place on February 21 in the beautiful setting of Tenuta Mocenni-Bindi Sergardi, and there was important dialogue reflecting on the results obtained and the objectives to meet together in the new social year. During the assembly, the budgets for the past year and the coming year were reviewed by members.
For years MTV Toscana has collaborated with the International School of Comics in Florence, and on March 4, 2019 there was a charity auction for labels designed by comic book illustrators of international fame during the last editions of Mugello Comics and Luca Comics. The labels were paired with wines donated by MTV Toscana cellars, and the funds received will be donated to the charity Taxi 25 Onlus of Zia Caterina Belllandi. MTV Toscana wineries took part in the fair in Verona from April 7-10, 2019 where Cantine Aperte, the top Italian wine tour event for wine lovers, was launched. The brochures for the event were released at Vinitaly.
The last weekend of May (25-26), MTV Toscana member wineries opened their doors to the public for the most-anticipated wine tourism event of the year in Italy. The theme of 2019 Cantine Aperte in Tuscany is culture that generates and animates wine in this year that Matera is the European Capital of Culture. For its 27thedition, MTV Toscana has chosen culture, in all of its forms, starting from the art of vinification to food and wine pairings and real as well as authentic art in the cellars, the dwelling places of wine, which open their doors especially for this occasion when art blends with our food and wine heritage. CALICI DI STELLE
From August 2 to 11, 2019 MTV Toscana members opened their doors to wine lovers and connoisseurs who raised their glasses under the stars while tasting wine and observing the sky to celebrate the 50 years since man landed on the moon. And it was precisely under the stars and the moon that MTV Toscana wineries organized their many activities: from sky gazing to dancing under the stars and theme dinners between the rows of vines to food wine pairings.
CANTINE APERTE FOR HARVEST
During the month of September, our wineries welcomed once again the wine lovers in the magical atmosphere of the harvest. It has been the perfect time for many enthusiasts to meet workers and experience up close one of the most captivating moments of the work we do at our wineries. For 2019 the key word was “harvest kit” because we decided to offer you a different sort of experience in the vineyards. We called on families, especially the little ones, who were led through the vineyards by expert staff on a quest to discover the harvest. To get closer to nature, they collected soil and leaves, and they were given shoots. There were also tastings of the wine must, tours of the cellar, and sips of the best wine that the MTV Toscana members offered for the occasion.
FOOD/TOURISM PRESS TOUR
Every year MTV Toscana organizes a press tour to promote the quality of the wine tourism structures in Tuscany. From September 13 to 15, four top influencers in the world of wine were in MTV Toscana wineries to promote the new section of the website www.MTV Toscana.com dedicated to winery experiences. Enoblogger, Stefano Quaglierini, and Chiara Giannotti visited MTV Toscana wineries with their smartphones on a quest for the hidden treasures of the most beautiful Tuscan cellars including classy restaurants, activities in the open air, tours of the cellar, and charming wine tourism structures.
UN BRINDISI IN VILLA
In 2019, the event that unites culture, wine, and solidarity returns. This appointment is in November in an exceptional location, which is usually closed to the public. It will be a chance to taste excellent wines from MTV Toscana members surrounded by art while helping charity organizations in the Tuscan territory.
CANTINE APERTE FOR CHRISTMAS
During the month of December, MTV Toscana wineries will open their doors to wine lovers with many initiatives connected to the world of wine: tastings of historical vintages, food and wine pairings in addition to wine baths and massages in spas. An important occasion to bring wine lovers into the cellars and to choose gifts and the best bottles to open over the holidays.
SOCIAL NETWORKS AND COMMUNICATION
A rich program of content and video to introduce the wine lovers who follow us to the great wines of our region and the people who live wine every day. To arouse interest in our followers and bring them into the MTV Toscana member wineries, we will talk about interesting facts and anecdotes about the world of wine. Thanks to the contribution of experts, we will cover native Tuscan wine varieties and go into the kitchens of Movimento Turismo del Vino members to capture traditional recipes and some tricks of the trade. The videos about young people are back with sommeliers and young producers who will talk about themselves and their passion. New in 2019 are the features on new members where the wineries will explain why they chose to become part of our family and why visit their cellars. Also we have made room for cinema with suggestions about films where Tuscan wine and our region are the stars.
All these social activities are always linked on our website which will be the showcase for our members. To best promote all year long the services offered by the wineries and the experiences that the visitors can choose to do in member wineries, a separate and innovative Experiences page was created giving the chance to wine lovers to create their own personalized itineraries based on what interests them (to visit this page, click here).
The www.MTV Toscana.com website has a new graphic interface and even new features, especially one which lets you know every type of event organized in every winery in real time thanks to geolocation.
