Event: Poker d’Assi and Verticale di Brunello
The event created by me back in 1993, returns every year in spring and becomes an important appointment to show new experiences with wine. It is in fact a true wine tourism festival that attracts novice visitors but also true enthusiasts who have already experienced almost everything. For this reason, a program with 2 different proposals has been studied. They will be by reservation only for a maximum of 25 people each.

Guided tour of the Brunello wine production and aging cellars where there are not only barrels and fermentation tanks but also panels and videos about the history and traditions of Montalcino. Guided tasting in the Ilda Bartoloni Room of: Chianti Superiore DOCG 2020, Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2021, Cenerentola Orcia DOC 2018 and Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018 paired with: stracchinato cheese, Pecorino Arciere, Pecorino with pears, Pecorino seasoned San Benedetto from the Fior dairy of Montalcino by Chironi. The dairy Elisa explains the cheeses and the reason for the pairings.

Verticale di Brunello
- An experience that begins in the BIO vineyards to see Sangiovese vines of different ages and planted on different terrains. It continues showing the vinification and barrel maturation rooms and arrives at the key moment in the large tasting room where the participants taste 5 vintages of Brunello di Montalcino. A preview of two vintages of the future Brunello still in barrel, two vintages of Brunello di Montalcino and a reserve of Brunello paired with Pecorino San Benedetto from the Fior di Montalcino Dairy and with crushed chunks from the Forno Val’D’Orcia di Montalcino. During the tasting, practical demonstration of the production of raviggiolo by the dairy Elisa with subsequent tasting.

- Visita guidata alle cantine di produzione e d’ invecchiamento del vino Brunello dove non ci sono solo botti e vasche da fermentazione ma anche pannelli e video sulla storia e le tradizioni di Montalcino. Degustazione guidata nella Sala Ilda Bartoloni di; Chianti Superiore DOCG 2020, Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2021, Cenerentola Orcia DOC 2018 e Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018 abbinati rispettivamente con: formaggio stracchinato, Pecorino Arciere, Pecorino alle Pere, Pecorino San Benedetto del caseificio Fior di Montalcino di Chironi. Coming from Montalcino, take the SP45 in the direction of Buonconvento, then 6 km from Montalcino, turn left at the crossroads for “s.c. Event: Tasting Vini Orcia DOC
We are waiting for you for a special tasting to get to know the ORICIA DOC wine produced by the cellar. There are only two wineries in the Orcia consortium that produce white Orcia DOC, Olivi – Le Buche was the first to do so.
The tastings will start from 11.30 to 16.30 (the cellar closes at 18). Estimated time for the tasting about 60 min. Available languages English, Italian, Bulgarian, Spanish
A tasting of 3 wines to get to know the Orcia DOC denomination.
The tasting will be preceded by a tour of the vineyards, the fermentation room and the barrel cellar.
We will start with a taste of the oil we produce with a bruschetta of Tuscan bread. We will proceed with the white Coreno 2021 Orcia Doc, Trebbiano and Malvasia from a 70-year-old vineyard. Limited production, but with great body and longevity (the 2014 vintage is available in our shop!). Our orcia DOC Le Buche 2019 follows, based on Sangiovese -85%- in a blend with cab. Frank and petit verdot. We will finish with a tasting glass of our Riserva Memento Orcia DOC Riserva 2015, Sangiovese and Syrah. Breadsticks and taralli are available to guests

Additional information: at the wineries you can access via the 5km dirt road. The navigator or Google Maps coming from Sarteano village- Chianciano or the Val d’Orcia area suggests a second faster road, which however is not in good condition (passable only with tall cars – SUVs and the like). The right road is the one that appears to be close to the A1 Chiusi – Chianciano T. exit and which passes in front of the Astrone agro restaurant.

As for MTV and Cantine Aperte, 2023 also marks an important milestone for “RICASOLI 1141”: Francesco Ricasoli celebrates 30 years at the helm of the family business. Sunday 28 May RICASOLI opens its doors to wine enthusiasts to retrace the most important moments in recent history.
