MonteRosola was built in the 15th century, originally as a fortified outpost for the Pignano Castle and subsequently became the farmhouse of 3 or 4 farming families. The main products were olive oil, wine and wheat. This is why it can be said that wine and oil have been produced in MonteRosola for around 600 years. The hills surrounding Volterra are over 600 m high and are windy for most of the year. The character of the soil and our special microclimate (terroir) are particularly suitable for the production of wine and oil, thanks to the healthy cultivation conditions.
The intense manual work carried out in the vineyard and olive grove is integrated with modern agricultural technologies aimed at achieving the highest quality standards.
